If at first you don't succeed, try try again. If at second you don't succeed, well... Made some line work for a new illustration that I'm going to start on. A continuation of my catgirl concentration i.e. obsesion. Here is the sketch.

Soon I'll add a background and then all the special flare to make it pop. Just don't hold your breath because I do have a day job.

I have some new stuff I have been working on. I started this new picture of a character I made up.

I call him Banyin Armon a.k.a DarkprinceArmon. He a long standing character idea that I had created for a space saga called "The Dark Seas" he cursed; having lost everything he had, he turned his soul over to a dark god out of wrath against those who emotionally tormented him. It's a rough at this point and will be finished soon. I consider it a study of what the character may look like.

This is a detailed of the finished Myspace portrait Laura.

This is a study on actual color and how effective flattened out colors can look with little to no varation in value. The artwork has a graphic quality like much of my works. Still though this is more of an experiment than a finished peice of quality work. I have more to go to break the bounderies of my current style.

Did some life drawings over the spring break weekend with my good friend Dennis H. Thought I would be a sport and just post them here.

These were 5 min. Studies.

This was a ten min. study so I just focused on getting my line work to look natural.

These last two were 15 min studies. I was able to get some inking in that is close to my illustration style. I think they came out rather good.

I had great fun and I look forward to doing it again sometime.

This is a sample peice of work I did to teach my students how to make more natural trees from imagination. The sample came out great and so I figured I would interject some of my own style into it. The sample was made with crayola chalk, water, crayola tempera paint and marker. The next time around I will use media that last longer but for now it serves the purpose. It pushes my style just a little more in the painting direction.
